Suggestions and Feedback

“I wore a pretty great tux in To Catch A Thief. Will you be doing a post on that anytime soon?”
I’m always looking for new BAMF Style content ideas, so if you’re ever watching a film or TV show and think, “Hey, that BAMF has great style…” you should know where to go. Post your ideas in the comments below or email thesartorialbamf@gmail.com! Nothing is necessarily out of bounds, as long as there’s enough to be covered.
I try to be as accommodating as I can be to requests, but this page is solely a labor of love—not a content factory!—so please be patient and mindful of the fact that this is a personal blog, I’m just one guy, and there is unfortunately very little chance that I will live long enough to watch (let alone take screenshots and comprehensive notes) about everything that has been requested.
Feeling extra motivated to see your suggestion covered on BAMF Style? Click here or the below button to contribute a donation… and be sure to mention if there’s a specific character, movie/TV show, and/or clothing you’d want to see covered!

If you spot a mistake—which is certainly possible—please follow these steps:
- Make a comment or send an email kindly correcting me, with evidence and placements if necessary or possible
- I’ll make the correction once I confirm it and, especially if it’s a significant change or brand confirmation, give credit for the fix (unless you don’t want credit!)
Would love to see a post on Paul Newman in Nobody’s Fool. My personal favorite Newman movie/performance.
Please do Harrison Ford in Presumed Innocent
June 20, 1975 will be the day when Jaws was released in theaters. For an anniversary post. A suggestion is Chief Brody, The part were he says “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”🦈
Just found your site thx to research I was doing re: “If I Can Dream” white suit & began scrolling around looking at some of the men’s suits, jackets, etc. Interesting. I’d like to mention one in particular — Roger Moore’s white jacket (Moonraker). Not good at all. It’s a poor fit, fabric quality looks questionable w-the little “wavy-ness” of the fabric; & the way it “curves” & is slightly open below the pocket is really bad. I also think the color of the shirt is quite drab. As a woman, nothing I’d get excited about in the least. Actually, would like to be able to re-do him.
Could you do Scott Glenn in Silence of the Lambs?
Would be great to see Johnny (Tom Hardy) in ‘Bikeriders’!
I would love to write about that! Still need to see the movie but I remember thinking the same when I saw previews for it.
Would love to see Jack Nicholson as The Joker from Batman 1989 movie. Specifically The parade scene as well as the cathedral fight scene.
Do you think you could cover Adam Driver’s style in Noah Baumbachs White Noise (2022) more specifically the blue zip-up jacket he wears throughout majority of the film?
Kind of an oddball suggestion but could you do David Byrne in Stop Making Sense?
The big suit is iconic! I was definitely planning on writing about that this year for the 40th anniversary
That’s fantastic to hear. I’m a massive Talking Heads fan and Jonathan Demme fan (a couple of my most recent suggestions have been Demme films funnily enough) so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the big suit get covered on here.
Tom Cruise’s brown deer suede racer jacket in MI3. Also his green cotton unstructured blazer in MI5: Rogue Nation is a great one too.
I was thinking maybe since it’s almost Halloween time about Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. The outfit were he invites Jean to his apartment on a date. Personally, it’s one of my favorite outfit as it’s shown on the theatrical poster.
If you haven’t checked out Tokyo Drifter (1966) I think there are a few outfits you might enjoy analysing from that, particularly Kurata’s vest. The movie’s on the Criterion channel (and don’t worry if you can’t follow the plot, I don’t know if anyone can).
Check out the picture of Charlie Beckwith founder of delta force here https://chrishernandezauthor.com/2022/05/27/col-beckwiths-rolex-1675/
Clark desert boots, khakis, camo jacket, Rolex on a Seiko strap, saw that and immediately thought BAMF style.
Could you do William Petersen in Manhunter?
Rutger Hauer in The Hitcher for car week would be interesting.
In light of his recent passing, I would love to see a feature on Kris Kristofferson, specifically from the movie “Cisco Pike” (great early 70s flick and his first starring role…he wears a really cool brown suede jacket throughout). Another idea would be Mickey Rourke in the film “Rumble Fish”…
Thanks for the suggestion! https://bamfstyle.com/2024/10/28/cisco-pike-kristofferson-brown-suede/
you might consider Michael Douglas’ rich man wardrobe from The Game. Also in passing, because I know you have seen it, Savinkov from Reilly Ace of Spies, the man carries a grenade!
It’s almost peacoat season, and the other day I remembered Kirk and Spock’s outfits when they travel back in time in “The City on the Edge of Forever.” Color-coordinated classic outerwear from a classic show seems right up your alley.
Vince Edwards in Murder by Contract (1958)
Robert De Niro in “The Deer Hunter” with his vest, jeans, boots, hunting parka, beanie etc. sure is a tough nut to crack, I can’t find anything on any of the items online (the boots do seem to be Red Wings). would be very much appreciated!
Definitely planning to cover that this month!
You need to check out Apple TV’s dark comedy series “Hello Tomorrow!”, which stars Billy Crudup and Hank Azaria. It is set in a retro 50’s future (think Fallout before the apocalypse) with its fashions, technology and hover automobiles.
It is definitely worth an article or two.
The North By Northwest article might need an update since the general consensus appears to now be that the suit is a dark grey.

the world will somehow need to survive until I can get to it
December 18 will be the fictional character’s birthday Daniel LaRusso from The Karate Kid. The 1984 film. In his Karate Gi outfit. A movie that came out 40 years ago.
Gary Oldman’s beige gabardine suit and white shirt as Norman Stansfield in Leon: The Professional.
May I suggest Donald Sutherland’s Liam Devlin, a very confident Irish spy in ‘The Eagle has Landed.’ His limited wardrobe is highlighted by a tweed jacket with large leather elbow patches and leather sleeve ends. He also sports a tweed bucket hat, a thick (Fair Isle?) sweater, a rumpled Macintosh raincoat, and a couple earth-toned shirts. All together it’s a wonderful rustic collection.
In fact, he looks cool enough to have a young Jenny Agutter fall for him at first sight.
Thanks for your posts!
Love this idea — thank you! Sounds right up my alley and ideal for a post. It’s been long overdue that I watch this one, so this was the nudge I needed it to move it up the watchlist and plan on getting a post together.
Hey now that Luca Guadagninos latest film “Queer” is out on video, can you do a post on the white linen suit and white button up Daniel Craig wears the majority of the film?
Could you do Ted Levine in The Mangler? Kinda obscure movie but he wears some pretty interesting clothes.
Younger fan of your site, here. I use your website for inspiration for my wardrobe constantly but have very little need for suits in my daily life so I particularly favor posts of more casual attire. Perhaps breakdowns of characters such as Chris Hemsworth in Extraction, Richard Madden in The Bodyguard, or any/all of the cast of Triple Frontier (I swear I don’t work for Netflix) could present some more options for those of us who enjoy blending practicality with homages to the bad asses portrayed in these films. Thanks you for any consideration, love your work!
I’d like to see something about the suits that Ha Jung-woo’s character wears in The Handmaiden, especially the cream one
Great idea!
Long time reader here!
Have you considered covering Leo DiCaprio as Danny Archer in ‘Blood Diamond’?
Lots of interesting examples of military surplus and warm weather clothing on Leo and the other characters.
Would love to see your insights!
Great timing! I had actually been planning to cover Blood Diamond for a while, so your interest nudges this up in the list.
Are there any of Leo’s looks that you’d particularly want to see focused on? My notes focus on five: a dark olive bush shirt and cargo pants, a similar khaki shirt and jeans (worn with a field jacket, IIRC), a blue-and-white bird-printed shirt, a blue bush shirt and jeans, and green bush shirt and slouch hat.
That’s awesome!
I think you’ve pretty much got them covered. I’m personally most interested in the bird print shirt look (although I think it’s actually a fishing net), the “National Geographic” look with the (possibly Aussie style?) hat, and the field jacket.
Can’t forget the Breitling either!
In the bit of research I’ve done, it seems like the field jacket and olive bush shirt are similar to but not exact matches for the SADF nutria brown issued gear.
Hello! Would love to see something on Dennis Hopper in The American Friend. He has an amazing collection of various fits that all feel unique tied together. Thanks!
Would love to see Marlon Brando in Streetcar. Very iconic look, with the t shirt, (flannel I think?) trousers and the sneakers and the rest of the outfits in the film
Iconic indeed — great idea!
Now that Adrien Brody won his second Oscar for The Brutalist I’d love to see a post on some of his unique outfits from costume designer Kate Forbes.
Definitely planning to! Loved it in theaters, now just need to catch it streaming or on Blu-ray to watch for capturing screenshots and notes.
How about a post on Bruce Willis’ outfits in Moonlighting? Always looking sharp, whether in a suit, or dressed down in a cool 1980’s sweater. Love to hear your take on Bruce!
Great idea, especially with Bruce’s 70th birthday coming up. Thanks!
In honor of Gene Hackman I’d love to see a look back at his iconic Windowpane sport jacket in the finale of “Superman The Movie”, or his charcoal three piece in “Superman II”.
Hi – love the site; such an amazing resource you’ve created, thanks so much for all your hard work!
Was randomly rewatching Raiders of the Lost Ark last night and I’d love to see a breakdown of René Belloq’s linen suit outfit.
How bout Brendan Fraser’s 60s style in Blast From the Past?
Hey if you ever do a post on A Complete Unknown, i’d suggest either Bob’s first outfit when he moves to New York or his orange button up and black leather blazer at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.
I definitely planned on at least two Timmy-as-Bob posts this year, starting with those very outfits/scenes! Glad to know there’d be some interest!
Can we expect some posts on Jon Hamm’s suits, blazers and casual wear in Your Friend’s and Neighbors @bamfstyle?
I can’t believe there’s no entries for Daniel Day Lewis in The Phantom Thread. Good Heavens, oversite!
Topical suggestion; the Mission impossible franchise from the 60s series to the movies with Ethan Hunt’s selection of leather jackets and sharp suits to Gabriel’s rich autumnal wardrobe and Brigg’s stylish but practical wear.
Since Mission Impossible is relevant again, a style guide (or a series of posts) on the looks of Ethan Hunt would be greatly appreciated! Keep up the good work!
Great thinking — and thanks for the kind words! I actually have my first (what took so long, right?) post about Ethan Hunt’s style planned to publish here very soon.
This site is a much appreciate sartorial treasure trove! A couple of suggestions if I may: Paul Newmann 1969 “Winning” Movie – Robert Culp and Bill Crosby 1665-1958 ” I spy” TV Show – Robert Wagner 1968-1970 ” It takes a thief” TV Show.
Thank for you for doing my Handmaiden suggestion! Could you maybe do one on the clothes that Steven Yeun’s character wears in Burning(2018)? Particularly the navy bomber jacket that I can’t seem to find anywhere.
June 20, 1975 will be the day when Jaws was released in theaters. For an 50th anniversary post. A suggestion is Chief Brody, The part were he says “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”🦈
Exactly what I was planning to do! Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow 😉
OK thanks for letting me know. I’ll keep an eye on it.🙌🏻🙏🏻
Constantly in awe of how relentless you are writing on this blog. Loved the recent Ethan Hunt post. I was watching Tomorrow Never Dies recently and forgot how badass Bond’s outfit is in the opening scene. Ever consider doing a post on the leather jacket featured in it?
Back To The Future’s 40th anniversary is on July 3rd, would be an excellent time for a Marty McFly post.
It would, wouldn’t it? 👀 And wouldn’t you just know, that’s the week I like to feature iconic movie cars too…
Nice!
Burt Reynolds as Malone 1987 had some great outfits. Was sort of Reynolds going into Charles Bronson’s lane.
July 10. 44 years for Escape from New York. Time to repost Snake.
Since you already did a post on Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr’s outfits in Zodiac (2007) I think it’s about time for one on Mark Ruffalo (Maybe his signature bow tie or trench coat)?
